This six sided lantern is a mix of bristol board, clear film, alcohol ink, and tissue paper. Each side is inspired by one of the nine worlds of Norse mythology, and they are each represented by a different animal that holds some significance in Scandinavia. The symbols on the top and bottom are inspired by traditional markings found on Scandinavian sledges, or sleds, from the age of vikings. The holes in the animals are taken from the way animals were drawn from much earlier time periods. This project was one of my favorites because I love to read and conduct research to create an in depth and beautiful project.
